Filing your Vermont state income tax return

As a Vermont taxpayer, your state tax return is due by April 15th. The tax you owe is simple to determine once you complete your federal return.

In Vermont, you must use the same filing status on your state return as used on your federal return. Only in extreme situations are there exceptions to this rule.
